  • 1/4 cup honey or maple syrup
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • Pinch of salt
  • Add-ins (chocolate chips, nuts, or dried fruit, such as walnuts and dark chocolate)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Line an 8×8 inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, mash 2-3 ripe bananas until smooth.
  4. Mix in 1/2 cup of nut butter and 1/4 cup of honey or maple syrup until well combined.
  5. In another bowl, mix 2 cups of rolled oats, 1 teaspoon of baking powder, and a pinch of salt.
  6. Gradually combine the dry mixture with the wet ingredients and stir until fully incorporated. Fold in any add-ins if desired.
  7. Pour the mixture into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges turn golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Allow the bars to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes, then lift them out using the parchment paper and let them cool completely on a wire rack before slicing into squares.
