Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 ounces of softened cream cheese
  • 1 cup of sour cream
  • 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup of fried pickles, chopped
  • 23 fresh jalapeños, finely chopped (seeds removed for less heat) or 1/4 cup pickled jalapeños
  • 1 teaspoon of garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon of onion powder
  • a pinch of cayenne pepper
  • hot sauce to taste

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine 8 ounces of softened cream cheese, 1 cup of sour cream, and 1 cup of shredded cheddar cheese. Use a hand mixer or a spatula to blend until smooth and creamy.
  2. Chop about 1 cup of fried pickles into small pieces and fold them into the creamy mixture.
  3. If you're using fresh jalapeños, finely chop 2-3 jalapeños (seeds removed for less heat) and stir them into the dip. For pickled jalapeños, about 1/4 cup is perfect.
  4. Sprinkle in 1 teaspoon of garlic powder, 1 teaspoon of onion powder, and a pinch of cayenne pepper. Drizzle in your desired amount of hot sauce. Mix everything until well combined.
  5. Taste your dip at this stage. Adjust the heat with more hot sauce or jalapeños if you like it spicy!
  6. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 1 hour.
  7. After chilling, give the dip a good stir and transfer it to a serving bowl. Garnish with extra chopped jalapeños, some fried pickles on top, or a sprinkle of fresh herbs like parsley or dill.
