Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 cups gluten-free cereal
  • 3 cups gluten-free pretzels
  • 1824 ounces white chocolate melting wafers or chips
  • ½ cup creamy peanut butter or alternative nut/seed butter
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter or coconut oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups powdered sugar (confectioners' sugar)
  • 12 cups festive mix-ins (gluten-free holiday M&M's, red and green gluten-free sprinkles, mini marshmallows, dried cranberries, roasted pecans, red and green candy melts)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Workspace: Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper and set them aside.
  2. Combine Dry Ingredients: In a large mixing bowl, gently combine the 9 cups of gluten-free cereal and 3 cups of gluten-free pretzels. Toss gently to mix.
  3. Melt the Chocolate Mixture: In a microwave-safe bowl, combine the 18-24 ounces of white chocolate melting wafers, ½ cup of creamy peanut butter, and 1 tablespoon of unsalted butter. Microwave on high in 30-second intervals, stirring well after each interval until smooth and creamy. Stir in the 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract.
  4. Coat the Dry Mix: Pour the melted chocolate mixture over the cereal and pretzel mixture. Gently fold and stir until evenly coated.
  5. Powdered Sugar Shake: Transfer the mixture into a large ziplock bag, add the 2 cups of powdered sugar, seal the bag, and shake until coated.
  6. Spread and Cool: Pour the coated mixture onto the prepared baking sheets, spreading it into a single layer and breaking up any large clumps.
  7. Add Festive Touches: While still warm, sprinkle your festive mix-ins over the top to help them adhere.
  8. Set and Serve: Allow the Reindeer Chow to cool completely on the baking sheets before breaking it into smaller pieces.

Keywords: Always double-check labels for gluten-free certification. Don't overheat the chocolate, and use a large bag for coating to avoid crushing the cereal. Allow the chow to cool completely for the best texture.
