Indulge in the rich, decadent flavor of Fudgy Brownie Waffles, a delightful twist on traditional brownies served as waffles. With crispy edges and gooey centers, these waffles are a chocolate lover’s dream come true.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 pinch salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 cup melted butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/4 cup milk (or a non-dairy substitute)
  • Optional: chocolate chips (milk, dark, or white)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the waffle iron according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together 1 cup of all-purpose flour, 1/2 cup of unsweetened cocoa powder, 1 cup of granulated sugar, and 1/2 cup of brown sugar. Add a pinch of salt and 1 teaspoon of baking powder.
  3. In another bowl, melt 1/2 cup of butter and let it cool slightly. Then, whisk in 2 large eggs, 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract, and 1/4 cup of milk (or a non-dairy substitute). Mix until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and gently fold them together until just combined. If you’re adding chocolate chips, fold them in now.
  5. Lightly grease the preheated waffle iron with cooking spray or melted butter. Pour about 1/2 to 3/4 cup of batter onto the iron, close the lid, and cook according to your waffle maker’s instructions, usually about 4-5 minutes.
  6. Carefully remove the waffles and serve them warm, topped with whipped cream, fresh berries, or a drizzle of chocolate sauce.

Nutrition

Keywords: Don’t overcook the waffles; a little softness in the middle contributes to the fudgy texture. Experiment with toppings like peanut butter, Nutella, or ice cream, and consider adding nuts for a crunchy texture.
