Ingredients

  • Thinly sliced beef ham
  • Mozzarella sticks (or cheddar or pepper jack cheese)
  • Puff pastry (or crescent roll dough)
  • Garlic powder
  • Onion powder
  • Black pepper
  • Egg wash (or almond milk and flour mixture)

Instructions

  1. Start by preheating your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out your puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 1/8 inch thickness.
  3. Cut the rolled-out pastry into rectangles, about 4×6 inches.
  4. On one half of each rectangle, place a slice of beef ham, followed by a piece of cheese.
  5. Fold the pastry over to create a pocket and use a fork to press down the edges, sealing in the filling.
  6. Brush the top of each stick with your egg wash (or almond milk mixture).
  7. Place the sticks on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper and bake for about 15-20 minutes or until they’re puffed and golden brown.
