Cheesy Burrata Crostini: A Delicious Appetizer Recipe for Any Occasion

  • 1 French baguette or ciabatta loaf
  • 1 cup of fresh burrata cheese
  • 1 cup of cherry tomatoes, halved
  • 1/4 cup of fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon of balsamic glaze
  • 1 clove of garlic, peeled and halved
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional: Red pepper flakes for a spicy kick

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Slice the baguette or ciabatta loaf into 1/2-inch thick slices.
  3. Arrange the slices on a baking sheet in a single layer.
  4. Drizzle a tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil over the bread slices and spread evenly.
  5. Sprinkle a pinch of salt over the slices.
  6. Toast the bread in the oven for about 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy.
  7. Remove from the oven and let cool slightly.
  8. In a medium bowl, combine the halved cherry tomatoes and chopped basil leaves.
  9. Drizzle the remaining tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil over the mixture.
  10. Add a pinch of salt and pepper to taste, and optional red pepper flakes.
  11. Gently toss until well combined and set aside.
  12. Remove the burrata cheese from its packaging and place it on a cutting board.
  13. Cut the burrata in half to reveal its creamy interior or tear it into smaller pieces.
  14. Take a toasted bread slice and place it on a serving platter.
  15. Scoop a generous amount of burrata cheese onto the center of the toasted bread.
  16. Top with a spoonful of the tomato and basil mixture, including some juices.
  17. Drizzle balsamic glaze over each crostini.
  18. Garnish with additional fresh basil leaves if desired.
