Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup fresh blueberries
  • 1 medium banana
  • 1 cup spinach leaves (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 tablespoon chia seeds
  • 1 tablespoon honey or maple syrup (optional, for sweetness)
  • 1 cup coconut water or almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • Ice cubes (optional, for a chilled drink)

Instructions

  1. Wash the Blueberries: Rinse the fresh blueberries under cold water in a colander and gently shake to remove excess water.
  2. Prepare the Banana: Peel and slice the banana into 1-inch chunks for easier blending.
  3. Wash the Spinach: Rinse fresh spinach under cold water. If using frozen spinach, no need to thaw.
  4. Measure the Chia Seeds: Use a tablespoon to measure out the chia seeds.
  5. Gather Remaining Ingredients: Have your coconut water or almond milk, honey or maple syrup, and lemon juice ready.
  6. Add Ingredients to the Blender: Start with spinach leaves, then add blueberries, banana, chia seeds, honey or maple syrup (if using), and lemon juice.
  7. Pour in the Liquid: Add coconut water or almond milk to the blender.
  8. Blend Until Smooth: Blend on high speed for 30-60 seconds until smooth and creamy.
  9. Check the Consistency: If too thick, add more coconut water or almond milk and blend again.
  10. Add Ice Cubes (Optional): For a chilled drink, add 4-5 ice cubes and blend for another 10-15 seconds.
  11. Taste and Adjust: Taste the juice and add more honey or maple syrup if desired, then blend briefly.
  12. Prepare Your Glasses: Optionally rim glasses with lemon juice and dip in sugar for presentation.
  13. Pour the Juice: Pour the juice into prepared glasses, using a strainer if you prefer a smoother texture.
  14. Garnish (Optional): Garnish with whole blueberries, a slice of banana, or a sprig of mint.
  15. Enjoy Immediately: Serve fresh for the best flavor and nutrition.

Notes

  • Store any leftover juice in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 24 hours. The chia seeds will absorb liquid, thickening the juice over time. Re-blend or stir before serving.
  • Feel free to adjust the sweetness or add other fruits like strawberries or mango for a different flavor profile.
